Christmas tree skirt kits to stitch yourself, in counted cross stitch and latch hook. Several of the designs work equally well as a table mat or centrepiece.
A tree skirt sits under the Christmas tree and hides the stand and the water tray, and a stitched one becomes part of the decorations rather than something you hide behind presents.
The counted cross stitch designs from Dimensions are worked on aida - a typical kit contains 11 count aida, stranded cottons, a needle, the chart and instructions. Permin's are worked on 10 count jute with acrylic yarns, which gives a heavier, more rustic finish that suits a floor piece. The latch hook designs build a deep pile from short lengths of yarn knotted onto canvas, and are the most hard-wearing of the three.
Several of these designs are described as a tree skirt or mat and can be used either way - under the tree in December, or as a table centre for the rest of the season. Finished sizes vary by design and are listed on each product page.
