Soft Toy Making Kits

A soft toy kit gives you the whole toy in one box. The felt sheets come coloured and ready to cut, and the kit supplies the thread, sewing needle, ribbon, the toy filling and a printed pattern with instructions - so unlike most craft kits there is no stuffing or trim to buy separately.

Miadolla makes most of the range, and their designs run from a bear, cat and lamb to a mermaid, a dragon and a Rapunzel. VDV's felt kits add beads and sequins for decoration and come with a beading needle. There is also a needle felting kit from Dimensions, which is a different craft: instead of sewing pieces together you work wool roving with a barbed felting needle, and the kit provides the roving, the needle and a felting mat.

The sewing is straightforward hand stitching, so the kits suit adults and older children who want a finished toy rather than a piece to frame.
