A printed tapestry canvas comes with the design printed in colour on 10 count canvas and a list of the threads needed, giving DMC shade numbers and, on many designs, Anchor as well, in both wool and cotton. Threads, needle and frame are not included, which is what makes a canvas the right choice when you already have wool or want to pick your own.
Grafitec canvases are screen printed with a DMC thread list and come in sizes from 20cm x 25cm up to 60cm x 80cm, with many sized to finish as a cushion front. Gobelin-L canvases are colour printed with DMC and Anchor options and include large pieces at 60cm x 80cm. Diamant canvases list DMC cotton, soft cotton and wool options and include some very large pieces, and the DMC canvases include a set of 1930s-style travel posters with wool, soft cotton, stranded cotton and perle cotton suggestions.
10 count means ten stitches to the inch. Most stitchers work these canvases in tapestry wool, though they can also be stitched in stranded cotton.
