Counted cross stitch decorations are the classic - small designs worked on aida from a chart, finished as flat hangers or padded shapes. Plastic canvas kits are the productive ones: the design is stitched on stiff 14 count plastic canvas that holds its shape without a frame, and a single kit typically makes six or even twelve matching decorations - one box can trim a whole branch. Felt kits are the softest and quickest, sewing pre-cut felt shapes with simple stitches, and they suit an afternoon with children better than any counted kit.
